Food Assignments and other things

The reunion is getting closer!
I'm getting excited, I don't know about you.

So we will officially be starting Friday around lunch time, but everyone is welcome to come sooner.

I will be taking care of lunch and dinner on Friday, and would like to make the following food assignments for the other few days (Let me know if you need to change things around):

Saturday:
Breakfast- Russ & Kendra
Lunch- Brian & Merika
Dinner- Ape & Josh

Sunday:
Breakfast- I will provide cereal (since church is at 9:00 a.m.)
Lunch- Whit & Michael
Dinner- Hell's Kitchen (Everyone)

Monday:
Breakfast- Keri & Isaac

Let me know if anyone has a problem and I'll see what I can move around.

As far as food money goes, I am thinking of using some reunion funds to supplement the hell's kitchen food preparation. I'm not positive how much yet, I'm still finalizing everything, and trying to cut things were I can.

It's going to fun, and I'm totally excited to everyone!

PS: Hell's Kitchen just started (on TV), isn't that cool, perfect timing!

Chairs

I am working on seating for some of our outdoor/indoor activities. But I was thinking, would you all be cool with bringing your camp chairs, you know to supplement what I have gathered.

That would be cool if you guys could.

Also, I do have a tent, (I think it's a 6 or 8 man) and a few sleeping bags, if there are kids who want to sleep outside. (All the adults have spots inside). So let me know if you think your kids would like to sleep outside (so I know if I need another tent or not).

It's coming up pretty quick, we're about a month away! I'm getting really excited.
I'll work out food assignments probably in the next week, and then I'll post it for you guys.

Heck's Kitchen

I think there have been many of us who have been fascinated by the world of Chef Gordon Ramsay. I know I have watched many season's of "Heck's" Kitchen, enthralled in the amazing creations the contestants make.

So for the reunion, since there is a "Heck's" Kitchen in NYC, we will be having a competition of our own. So start thinking of that amazing recipe that will be a winner!

Just a heads up, so everyone can be ready.

I hope ya'll are getting excited, I know I sure am!!! :)

Some details

It turns out the vacation rental company I was going to go with was a little shady. And the prices they were telling me were not actual.

So...

It would end up costing several grand to rent a place to house us all.
(Maybe I'll do it next time it's my turn) :)

So we are going to host everyone at our casa. Now, don't freak out, we will have everything arranged nicely, everyone will have their own space and it will be well organized and comfy! :) (Plus, it's only for two nights and three days)

The important thing is that we all get to spend some time together! It'll be fun, I promise, and you won't regret coming. I love you all, and look forward to spending a few fun filled days with you.

PS: MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE POST BELOW THIS! (it's awesome!)

An Exciting Event to get Ready For!

BYRANT PARK-FASHION WEEK

In 1943, during WWII when travel was restricted to Paris, the fashion industry's exclusive inner circle was unable to view French fashion shows. This spurred the creation of New York's Fashion Week, which gave a platform for up and coming American designers to unveil their work.

One year later, it moved to it's most permanent location, Bryant Park. Here massive white tents are set up throughout the park, and designers and fashion magazines came in droves to showcase the latest innovations in American fashion.

For the reunion we are bringing New York's fashion week to Utah (for a couple of hours) :) And the latest, rising designers? YOU ALL! However, we are going to put a little twist on fashion. New York's high fashion meets country, in our Duct Tape Fashion Show!!! For this, participants can create their very own fantastic duct tape item, whether it's a dress, a tux, a handbag or even a hat. Each family must enter at least one item in the fashion show, but you're welcome to enter more. (The more the merrier!) And there will be prizes for the winners! So put your heads together and get taping! You've got a little over a month to finish your fabulous fashionable designs!

PS: You can use other items to jazz up your duct tape creation (like maybe feathers, sequins, or anything fabulous you have lying around), just make sure most of it is made of duct tape.

Here are some ideas: (And Google will probably have even more!!)

Welcome!

Welcome to the Whatcott family reunion 2010!

To kick things off I thought I'd start a blog to give easy access to everyone, and so we can we call stay updated about everything going on with the reunion.

First things first...
The reunion will be June 11-14

Our check-in time will be 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and our check-out time will be Monday at 11:00 a.m.

However, everyone and anyone is welcome to come to my casa earlier and stay later.

I don't think there is a "magical" or "perfect" time for absolutely everyone to come. But we did try to pick a date that had the least amount of scheduling conflicts. And we hope that everyone will be able to make it. We have some pretty sweet plans in the works!

In order to help me plan this better, I have determined a theme... Which is...NEW YORK! Woohoo!

I will be updating this blog with new info as I get it. So check back periodically to see what any "new" things have been added.
Thanks a bunch everyone! And I look forward to hangin' with you in "New York" (well, in Utah, but you know what I mean.)
